Addaya Islands and entrance

Attention: never, really never try a night approach without exact knowledge of the area or at least a perfect navigator PLUS fullmoon.....!!

There is no trustable light and the buoys cannot be seen in the night or only with great difficulties!
Aswell during the day, the approach must be done carefully; she is impossible with a N-storm, the several undeeps in the fairway cause a heavy sea.
Coming from N (1), sail along the coast, pass Punta Codolada and steer towards Punta d´en Siulet, round it and enter on a southcourse, later ssw-course the entrance of Addaya, always following the buoys. Do not try to leave the fairway, it is shallow and extremely rocky beside...!!

Coming from S (2), it is more difficult. Keep on a NW-course towards the island group of Illa de Ses Aguilas, Isla Gran Addaya and Isla Petita Addaya. In front of the northern tip of Isla Petita there are underwaterrocks, clear of them follows the passage and NNW of the passage you have to take care of Llosa den Enmig, not to be seen in calm weather, so you need help of your chart!

Llosa den Enmig lies approx. 750 m NNW of Isla Petita Addaya, only to be seen in rough weather. So go between the undeep and Isla Petita or go much more north and leave the undeep in south, before steering back to the entrance.

If you are in the entrance, you just follow the buoys and choose between the anchorage of Cala Molins (on starboard) or turn left into the inner part of Addaya basin.
Very attractive in calm weather: coming from S, there is a small passage (3) between Isla Gran Addaya and Punta de Mongofra (portside), showing depths of 4m. Keep more to starboard, because on port towards the middle of the fairway are some rocks, but very good to be seen, you need to have a man on the bow. After the passage, you can see a buoy, marking the way into the main entrance.
On this way, you not only save the longer way of the Islas Addaya, but aswell you do not come in contact with Llosa den Enmig!
